Below are the general guidelines of what your puppy will learn during their time in the Amazing Puppy Program. Remember this program lasts from 8-12 weeks of age. A three month old puppy is not an adult and the foundations and training I cover during this time are not set in stone. Like Children, puppies require repetition, consistency, and above all, time to become proficient in these concepts. Continuing your puppy's training and expanding upon these foundations will be your responsibility upon arrival of your puppy! Families that have completed the Amazing Puppy Program will have lifetime access to our trainers and will also be eligible to enter our Extended Training Program.
Crate Training
Eat all meals in his kennel to start forming positive associations. This will also help the puppy learn to keep his area clean.
Learn how to hold it and wait in his crate for 1-2 hours at a time during the day and 3-4 hours overnight.
Be taken on car rides in his crate to learn how to travel.
Learn to associate his crate with good things and regard it as his "safe space".
Potty Training
Learn the command "go potty" and start associating it with outdoor elimination.
Learn how to potty on a leash.
Begin learning about house-breaking through frequent potty breaks when not in his crate.
Socialization and Confidence Building
Be introduced to new experiences in a positive manner to build confidence.
Be exposed to loud and strange noises they may encounter day to day such as vacuums, loud music, and falling objects.
Experience walking on different types of surfaces such as small stairs, slick floors, or uneven surfaces.
Be taken on field trips such as pet stores, public parks, and hikes.
Be socialized safely with different types of people, dogs, and children.
Be exposed to grooming basics on a grooming table (nails, ear cleaning, baths and brushing).
Obedience Foundations
Learn their name.
Be introduced to a collar and how to walk with a leash.
Begin learning commands through positive reinforcement. ('Sit", "Down", "Place", and "Here")
